The Jape Group of Companies was founded by Mr Jape Kong Su in
Darwin, Northern Territory in 1976 and is family owned.
From the success of commercial property projects in the Darwin
city centre in the 1980's the Jape Group prospered and progressed
to the development of the Homemaker Village in 1989.
Situated on over 63,000sqm of land in a prime location central
to the CBD and Darwin's northern suburbs, the Homemaker Village
today is a shopping destination accommodating a synergy of businesses.
Specialty outlets through to large national retailers provide
visitors to the centre all manner of goods and services in keeping
with the outdoors and lifestyle of the Top End.
With Stage 5 having been completed in 2005 there are now 2 stages
of the Homemaker Village Master Plan remaining for development.
It is expected these stages will be completed in 2009.
Since its conception the Jape Group of Companies has experienced
solid growth. In addition to the achievements of its property
development section as evident in the success of the Homemaker
Village; the Group also boasts business interests in the import
and wholesale of furniture throughout Australia; and retail of
furniture for the domestic and commercial markets in the Northern
Territory. In Timor Leste one branch of the family maintains a
diverse range of interests including a department store, warehouses,
offices and rental accommodation.
With an established history in successful commercial property
development the Jape Group is now broadening its horizons. Previously
focusing on the development of commercial retail space, specialist
consultants have now been engaged to facilitate a push by the
Jape Group into residential and tourist accommodation market
through resort and lifestyle villages.
PHILOSOPHY
"To strive for excellence and achieve excellence in all
that we undertake"
VALUES AND ETHICS
Like any family, organisation or corporate structure our ability
to survive depends on teamwork and consequently we work as a team
at all times. Team work to achieve its maximum potential must
come with harmony in the workplace. This is only achieved through
the mutual respect and understanding of the wants and needs of
management and staff at all levels. We believe in honesty and
integrity and we apply this in our workplace extending it to staff
and customers alike.
Excellence in service, product quality and knowledge, the desire
to achieve and the spirit of co-operation are the very essence
of our lifeline and this philosophy is the fundamental core of
the culture of the Jape Group.
